Way Too Good For Me

by Her Burden

/

about

"Way Too Good For Me" was written back in 2019 shortly after Her Burden had released their debut album. Written as a collective effort over the course of many rehearsals as the pandemic continued. It's an upbeat, loud, alt/garage-rock tune inspired by the likes of Green Day, Queens of the Stone Age and Wolfmother. The lyrics paint the picture of a beautiful woman, way out of the league of the narrator, detailing why she is so perfect.

lyrics

She,
She’s way too good for me,
She’s got a criminology degree,
Man I’m stuck in the middle,
Just trying to get a little,
Cause she’s way too good for me,
Man I’m trying to make you see,
Can you read my psychology,
Man she said too predictive,
She said she’s vindictive but she’s way too good for me,

Yes I know,
Yes I know,
She’s the rain on my window pane,
And I know,
Yes I know,
That I was never the same,

There she goes just teasing me again,
Hear I am just trying to keep sane,
I want her,
I want her bad,
Yes I know I’m just another guy,
Not got much but man I do try,
She knows that,
That I want her bad,

Yes I know,
Yes I know,
She’s the rain on my window pane,
And I know,
Yes I know,
That I was never the same,

[guitar solo]

Yes I know,
Yes I know,
She’s the rain on my window pane,
And I know,
Yes I know,
That I was never the same,

She,
She’s way too good for me,
She’s got a criminology degree,
Man I’m stuck in the middle,
Just trying to get a little,
Cause she’s way too good for me,
[Way too good for me]
Man I’m trying to make you see,
[Way too good for me]
Can you read my psychology,
[Way too good for me]
Man she said too predictive,
[Way too good for me]
She said she’s vindictive but she’s way too good for me,

Yes I know,
Yes I know,
She’s the rain on my window pane,
And I know,
Yes I know,
That I was never the same,

Yes I know,
Yes I know,
She’s the rain on my window pane,
And I know,
Yes I know,
That she’s way too good for me.
