"On Your Own" is an energetic, guitar driven alt-rock track reminiscent of old-school Green Day and Jimmy Eat World. Although an upbeat catchy anthem, the song's lyrics paint a picture of being the cause of the break-up, regretting how things ended, and the loneliness that follows. It was originally released on a CD back in the early days of Her Burden, however over years of being re-worked, the band are now ready for the world to hear this song.
lyrics
I think we’re alone,
And I don’t here a word you say,
Accident prone,
What’s the emergency,
Well how the hell did we end up like this,
My dear,
I hate to leave you on your own but,
Now she’s gone,
I tripped up once or twice I know now,
That I’m wrong,
I hate to leave you on your own but,
Now she’s gone,
Man I hate that now she’s gone,
I sit here alone,
Hoping you’d rescue me,
I needed someone,
To fix this catastrophe,
Well how the hell did we end up like this,
My dear,
I hate to leave you on your own but,
Now she’s gone,
I tripped up once or twice I know now,
That I’m wrong,
I hate to leave you on your own but,
Now she’s gone,
Man I hate that now she’s gone,
Man I hate that now she’s gone,
I don’t care if you need a minute,
And I don’t care if your heart’s not in it,
No I don’t Even care.
I don’t care if you need a minute,
And I don’t care if your heart’s not in it,
No I don’t,
Even care,
I think we’re alone (I hate to leave you on your own but),
And I don’t here a word you say (Now she’s gone),
Accident prone (I tripped up once or twice I know now),
What’s the emergency (That I’m wrong),
I sit here alone (I hate to leave you on your own but),
Hoping you’d rescue me (Now she’s gone),
I needed someone (Man I hate that now she’s gone),
To fix this catastrophe,
I hate to leave you on your own but,
Now she’s gone,
I tripped up once or twice I know now,
That I’m wrong,
I hate to leave you on your own but,
Now she’s gone,
Man I hate that now she’s gone,
Man I hate that now she’s gone,
Man I hate that now she’s gone.
